As so often happens, once an enquiry has commenced, another parallel or tangent enquiry suggests itself. Sometimes these ‘suggestions’ just have to be followed immediately, when they may feedback and inform the original enquiry, or take over and replace it entirely.

I was organising the tapeballs and a three digit ternary code became an obvious must have parallel to the tapeball enquiry. 3 digits with each digit having the possibility of three coloured balls gives me my usual 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 alphabet tiles.
